Surprise mail

Something wonderful happened today - we got an amazing surprise in the post! The niece of one of the old owners of this house sent us the original plans to the house. She was going through her aunt's estate, found them and sent them to us along with a note that spoke about the house in 1940, how she remembers it, also what the streetscape was like then. Really
amazing. We love this place and it's just perfect timing that she has so kindly sent this through to us now! Going to frame the plans, they are so fragile.

In other news, we got 3 chooks! Little bantams! They are on hire from bookachook, if all goes well and they fit in well with us, we will keep them permanently. They sleep here:

And free-range all over the garden:

I'm sprouting heirloom tomatoes on my windowsill (thanks diggers!) and look forward to putting them in the garden soon.
